Drip Irrigation System
In order to help farmers to install the drip system a project was funded by an Italian NGO to finance half cost of the drip equipment, consisting of one km of drip pipes and one PVC tank of 230 lt. This tank has to be refilled daily once or more according to the area to be irrigated.
When the project is rationing the water, a reserve tank becomes necessary.
So far very few farmers have been able to buy a large tank – ideally a 5000 lt – to keep as a reservoir during the days of rationing Drip irrigation kit. Tank, pipes and fittings.
Water tanks
The aim of the project would be, to provide help to the present most productive 40 farmers , to buy one large tank – 5 000 lt. – and one load of farm manure . The large tank is required for the supply of the small 230 lt. tanks, which are part of the drip irrigation system The large tank is used for the storage of water, filled when water of the system is available during rationing period and then utilized to feed the small tanks of the drip system. The farm manure is the other initial input expenditures, Some contribution will be required from the applicant farmers ( 25 % ).

All money accrued from the 25% deposit could be added to the balance and be utilized for development of our Demo shamba .
Next to our camp we have over one hectare of land, used as a demonstration field for drip irrigation. At present the land is not properly utilized but with some improvement by input of good top soil and manure and with the installation of drip systems it can produce a much bigger supply of chamomile. Beside becoming a good demonstration field for all products, it can make MH free from being totally dependent from the farmers
